Details
After the 2nd world war, the first wave of migration from the Indian sub-continent to the UK took place, with many settling in the North East. These immigrants were pathfinders, explorers to a new land of strange dialects, weird customs and terrible weather. Despite hardship and privations many stayed and made a life for themselves. The stories of these early years were forgotten until now. Sacred Threads tells the stories of these north eastern pioneers, the good times, the discrimination, the difficulties and the joy. Come and join us and hear some extraordinary and colourful tales.
