In the crumbling ruins of a library a fugitive seeks refuge in comforting fictions. His sanctuary is disturbed by a visitor who unearths traces of atrocities slipped between tattered pages. Buried in the librarian's curious system of classification are fragments of a story which threatens to destroy them all.
