Three generations of tom Millington's family have made a living on the river that flows past the end of the garden. But times change and he is reduced to running a disco boat for drunken Brummies. It makes very little money and Tom hates doing it. Recently the river has started to invade his home, flooding the downstairs rooms, destroying carpets and possessions. It's getting to be an annual occurrence. And it looks like it's about to happen again. The rain keeps coming, and the floods just get higher and higher...
