Red Sky At Night archive70 years ago, the Germans began bombing British cities in the so-called blitzkrieg. Over 4000 people were killed and many thousands more injured on Merseyside alone. Red Skies follows the fortunes of the Murphy family and how they coped in the face of this terror. It celebrates their humour and resilience but doesn't shy away from the reality of people's lives in wartime, yesterday or today. People may have cried a river of tears but they still found the time to laugh and dance and sing.
