More thrills than frills - raw productions of new plays that will arouse, provoke and delight. This summer’s RAW productions reflect on the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan. The Sanger - "The first casualty of war is enthusiasm" - British Army soldier, Helmand Province, Afghanistan Afghanistan. A new drama written by a veteran of the Afghan conflict, interwoven with verbatim interviews from others who have served. A snapshot of the humour, fears and effects of current operations, The Sanger is a visceral portrayal of the life of the modern soldier. Tan Mewn Drain - How can one take advantage of a terrible loss? What can be gained from tragedy? When a war is just, are there no limits to man’s brutality? A chilling, provocative play that explores the further reaches of war’s atrocity, proving that one man’s pain is another man’s gain.
