Prophesy

Work:: Prophesy (S0780362743)

Helen, aged 12, has a strange man come to stay. 10 year old Paris returns home, a stranger in his own family. When both are told what the future has in store, neither child can imagine the terrifying effect this will have on their worlds. Set in the two contrasting worlds of ?Troy' and ?Sparta', we will explore the moments in Paris and Helen's childhood when they receive the prophesies that, when they grow up, bring about the complete destruction of their families and worlds.

Production:: (T1549239190)

Devised by the ensemble, this project will develop through improvisation and will take over the fabulous 2 floor gallery space at Blackall studios. Taking characters from the classic Greek Myths in settings not unlike modern Britain, we will be investigating the notion of self-identity in children: the roles they take on, the expectations they have and the choices they make. Set in the two contrasting worlds of ?Troy' and ?Sparta', we will explore the moments in Paris and Helen's childhood when they receive the prophesies that, when they grow up, bring about the complete destruction of their families and worlds.
