Readings from seven new plays. Get in at ground level with the most exciting playwrights of the future, from Canada, USA, England and Scotland. An American news team sets out to produce the happiest story in the history of American media. Darren seeks salvation in the black gold struck outside a small Alberta town. A tricksy raven intends to keep Emily in the Arctic forever. Jude vows to wrestle the evil out of Cosima, whatever the cost. Shayma is hired as Gert's home help. Gert will fight her every inch of the way. Constantinople, 1917. A young nurse falls in love with a wounded soldier. Mharaid begins a quest to scatter her husband's ashes and finds a new beginning. Extracts from the plays are performed as script-in-hand readings by professional actors. All writers are graduating from the MSc in Playwriting at the University of Edinburgh.
