Play to Win archiveThis hard-hitting drama is a contemporary, accessible and thought-provoking examination of adolescence highlighted by the use of trance music, martial arts (with Gold medallist Tom Wu) and digital technology. Twelve year old Paul de la Cruz feels he is a loser. He is bullied at school, home is chaotic and his mother, a first-generation immigrant with no experience of growing up in Britain, hasn't got a clue what he is going through. When he is offered friendship by the Black Snake Triad his life spirals out of control as he gets mixed up in violence, truancy and petty crime. The boundaries of fantasy and reality blur as he escapes into computer games.
