Orientations

Work:: Orientations (S1274623940)

Linda arrives in Bangalore searching for Amrit, who has disappeared from their London dance school after a class on transvestite roles in Indian folk theatre. Amrit is creating a new dance piece, based on the legend of Amba. She comes as a bride to Bhishma, but he rejects her. Swearing revenge, Amba pursues him across the world. Bhishma has been told that he cannot be killed by either man or woman. But, in her next incarnation, Amba is reborn as the eunuch Sikhandin. Linda pursues Amrit; Amrit pursues Amba; Amba pursues Bhishma. But who is the modern-day Sikhandin? Age 16+

CORONAVIRUS: All venues in the UK were shut down on March 16, 2020, and the restrictions were finally lifted on July 19, 2021. It is important to mention that the UK Theatre Web archive listings (iUKTDb) from March 2020 to July 2021 might not be accurate due to the lack of information regarding rescheduled and cancelled shows.
