May 18 1954. Minutes before curtain-up, Stan Laurel sits alone backstage at the Palace Theatre, Plymouth. Inspired by the events of that night, this critically acclaimed one-man show takes us behind the dressing-room door... Where is Oliver Hardy? Is this the end of the act, and, if so, what of Laurel himself - a man for whom performing is in the blood? The decision is all the more pressing as there is an audience waiting, and a manager keen for Stan to appear. Pondering his future, he is vividly reminded of his past as he is visited by memories of his father, former room-mate Charlie Chaplin - and Hardy himself.
