John Clare is classed as one of the most important poets of the 19th Century. Born the son of a farm labourer, Clare became a drinker and was eventually sent to asylum. On Common Ground tells of the life and eventual downfall of this troubled writer. A show that sings of the unsung and remembers the forgotten histories of the soil. Heralded as "the renaissance man of English folk", Chris Wood's music is a perfect balance of tradition and contemporary parables.
