NIGHT, LONDON: Adventures in a Splintered City

NIGHT, LONDON: Adventures in a Splintered City

Work:: NIGHT, LONDON: Adventures in a Splintered City (S1106586381)

The ultimate 'blind-date' of theatre shows, NIGHT, LONDON: Adventures in a Splintered City, is neither a sketch comedy nor a soap, but a unique form of narrative-based improvised drama and the culmination of ten-years research, utilising multi-media, multiple storylines and video podcast updates with live direction from Chris Johnston, author of 'House of Games' and 'The Improvisation Game', alongside a host of acclaimed 'guest' directors including Kevin Tomlinson (Sunday Times Playwright Award Winner), Adam Meggido ("Meggido takes time with his actors to make sense of the words and they deliver them with clarity and a genuine feel for storytelling.' - Time Out), Chris Goode ("British theatre's greatest maverick talent" - Lyn Gardner, The Guardian) and the legendary Mike Alfreds ("one of the three best directors in the country" - Sir Ian McKellan) In the process adopted for this show, the 25 actors - many of whom are in training at the Actor's Centre - develop characters and relationships during the rehearsal process. The resulting storylines are then taken directly onto the theatre stage without further development - from that point, everything that happens in the show, from the first night, becomes the backdrop to the next, meaning that no performance is the same.

CORONAVIRUS: All venues in the UK were shut down on March 16, 2020, and the restrictions were finally lifted on July 19, 2021. It is important to mention that the UK Theatre Web archive listings (iUKTDb) from March 2020 to July 2021 might not be accurate due to the lack of information regarding rescheduled and cancelled shows.
