National Theatre's New Connections

Work:: National Theatre's New Connections (S01900952879)

Every year the National Theatre commissions ten new plays by talented and exciting writers, which are then produced by young people from all around the country.

Production:: (T1670385604)

New plays by Anthony Horowitz, Lisa McGee, Anthony Neilson, Nick Drake and Georgia Fitch will be performed by schools from the region. The young people gain support and expertise from a National Theatre director whilst working on their production. They then get the opportunity to perform the piece at West Yorkshire Playhouse. One production of each play is then selected to be showcased at the National Theatre’s festival of new writing for young people. The Playhouse is just one of fifteen regional showcases across the country. NEW CONNECTIONS is one of the world’s largest celebrations of youth theatre.
