My Dad, The Magician archiveThe year is 1991. Tom is 11 years old. His Dad is a magician and Tom is his assistant. Using handmade magic tricks, live music, cassette players, DJ skills, audience interaction and a rabbit called Horace, this nostalgically inventive show tells the story of the man behind the magician. A former policeman, pillar of the community, laid low with a bad back and now forced to spend his weekends dressing up and entertaining at children's parties. A story of reinvention for an ordinary man who's greatest trick will be making sure there's food on the family table.
