M/S archiveM/S is a performance about fanatics. It is about the big crimes committed in the name of God, Freedom, Art, Revolution, and those who follow their ideas no matter what and how. The first half of the performance is based on the little drama by Alexander Pushkin Mozart and Salieri. According to the legend, Antonio Salieri poisoned his genius friend and rival composer W.A. Mozart, in a rapt of envy. The second half is based on a real historical murder of French revolutionary Jean Paul Marat at the hands of fanatic Christian Charlotte Corday, who knifed him to death in his own house. In Peter Weiss play this is represented by the inmates of the Clinique of Charenton, where the Marquise de Sade was confined at the end of the French Revolution. Weiss imagined a play where Sade and Marat have a confrontation concerning Freedom, Revolution, Life and Death. This version of Weiss play is a multimedia performance including electronic and live music, physical theatre and Video Art freely based on key texts from the original.
