Mrs Steinberg and The Byker Boy archiveThe Red Flag charity shop in Newcastle is where Peter, Janice and April, led by unreformed Mrs Steinberg , raise money for 'good socialist causes'. The old order is threatened by the arrival of bright Young Trainee Matty who seduces Peter, then goes about radically transforming the shop into The New Red Flag, a thriving business. The staff are won over by a combination of threats and incentives and profits soar, but principles go out of the window. Will Mrs Steinberg be able to withstand Matty's boundless energy and the cash it generates, and will she pull the plug on more than just his computer?
