Mojo

Mojo

Work:: Mojo (S1612)

Winner of 1996 Olivier Award for Best Comedy and 1995 Evening Standard Award for Best Newcomer. Mojo is set in 1950s Soho, where a group of would-be entertainment entrepreneurs with petty crime connections find themselves in a gruesome murder mystery. The owner of The Atlantic, a second-rate rock and roll club, has been found dead, and star turn Silver Johnny is missing. The crew of hired men are left to try and work things out - but their greed, stupidity and fear of being killed make it difficult to know who to trust as the summer heat and their steady diet of pills makes them edgy. As Sweet says, 'Typical eh? Rains all July, then the day they chop your boss up you go into hiding, wouldn't you know, a scorcher.' Mojo is an expletive-studded comedy of errors and bloodshed that has been awarded many prizes.
