Award-winning performance poet Jemima Foxtrot fuses spoken word and song to explore how music attaches itself to memories, people and places. Combining spoken word and fragments of song, from funk and soul to folk music, Jemima tells a funny, poignant story of childhood, displacement, growing up, love, migration, heartbreak and joy.

Melody was developed and presented as a work-in-progress at Omnibus, The Southbank Centre and Battersea Arts Centre. It was performed for the ?rst time as a preview at The Barbican in July 2015, before transferring to the Buxton Festival Fringe where it won the Spoken Word Award. Melody is Jemima's debut poetry play.
