Master Harold..And the Boys

Master Harold..And the Boys

Work:: Master Harold..And the Boys (S795122471)

On a wet windy Port Elizabeth afternoon, Hal is trying to do his homework in his mother's deserted cafe. The family's two black workers Sam and Willy scrub the floors, practice the quickstep and share their daydreams about better times. Athol Fugard is South Africa's greatest living dramatist. Drawn from an incident in his own childhood, Master Harold..And the Boys is a uniquely personal account of the life of a young man's growing up, set in the turbulent South Africa of the 1950s. Exploring power and dependence with heart-rending humour, this play is a lyrical and perfect gem.
Author Athol Fugard
