Mash archive'Anti-war' comedy. For those of you that don't know, M*A*S*H is a story about a group of Mobile Army Surgeons stationed in Korea during the Korean War. The first M*A*S*H book was written by Dr Richard Hornberger (under the pseudonym Richard Hooker) in 1968 and was an instant hit. The book was then made into a movie in 1970 starring Elliot Gould, Donald Sutherland and Sally Kellerman and was equally successful, with anti-Vietnam sentiment running high at the time. Then came a hit television series starring Alan Alda, which lasted 11 years with 251 episodes and won countless awards.
