Maire - A Woman of Derry

Work:: Maire - A Woman of Derry (S1174745721)

Following its opening in early 2002, Maire has been a phenomenal success all over the country. It is a one woman play, featuring a stunning performance from Derry actress Carmel McCafferty, which tells the story of Maire, a foul mouthed, feisty street alcoholic, whose patch is Derry's Guildhall Square. Filled with earthy dialogue and humour, Maire gives a frank and moving account of her life and how she made the journey from a young Creggan housewife to the hopeless state she finds herself in today. Adults only. Contains strong language
