Let Wives Tak Tent archiveAdapted from Moliere's L'Ecole des femmes. One of the great comedies of the classical French stage is given a new lease of life in this brilliant Scots adaptation set in Seventeenth Century Edinburgh. The self-styled Laird of Stumpie, a respectable denizen of the Conongate, has a scheme to avoid having to wear the cuckold's horns he has mocked so often on others. He has had a young girl raised in isolation from infancy to be foolish, ignorant and loyal - the perfect wife! Fate and young love, though, are forces not to be meddled with and those who play God with other people's lives are apt to come a cropper.
