Ladies Aloud archiveLadies Aloud brings together a pair of moving stories, told direct from the heart of two worldly-wise women revealing the twists and turns of their lives. Edwina from Surrey appears to have the perfect marriage and the ideal suburban family. However, underneath the gloss lies a simmering cauldron of emotion. Helen from New England is the all-American widow, religious and community spirited. Yet no-one could imagine her shocking other life from 60 years ago. From journalist to novelist, fashion entrepreneur and now playwright, Barry Laden, in his first play explores the lives of women who are at a point where they can at last reflect and finally take control.
