King Lear: Community Play archive"Doth any know me here? This is not Lear: Doth Lear walk thus? Speak thus? Where are his eyes? Who is it can tell me who I am?" A multicultural company of community actors, inspired by scenes from King Lear, explore ideas of ethnicity, identity and race - and particularly how cultural heritage informs individual identity. Using song, movement and sound, the company interweave their own words (sometimes in the dozen different languages which they speak!) with key scenes from Lear's story which show his loss of identity as he descends into madness. The result is a short, but thought provoking piece of theatre which explores how we all fit into a multicultural society today.
