Johnnie Jouk and the Gibbet archiveIt is Glasgow, 1605. The Lord Provost is having trouble recruiting a suitable hangman - not to mention the problem of Johnnie McClelland, a charming rogue, who causes trouble all over town but repeatedly manages to dodge the gallows ("jouk the gibbet"). A good story, with lots of laughs and twists along the way.
