Indian Country archiveHollywood conflicts with Rural Wales in the Fifties in a bittersweet account of three individuals adrift in a changing post-war world, all coming to terms with temptation and loss. Indian Country is set against the background of the filming of The Inn of the Sixth Happiness, which starred Ingrid Bergman, and in which the mountains of Snowdonia doubled for China. A widowed sheep farmer and her young son meet a charismatic American and their lives are changed forever. Meic Povey is well known to Welsh-speaking audiences and is one of our most successful and acclaimed playwrights. Indian Country is a rare opportunity for English speaking audiences to share this writer's distinctive vision and impact.
