Throughout this evening of stories, songs and music we witness a storyteller being increasingly unsettled by the manipulative and calculated tales told by another. While two men compete to impress the audience, one of them doesn t realise the fundamental competition he is losing. This piece is based on the relationship between the two storytellers, Othello and Iago. Othello woos Desdemona with his heroic tales of battles, sieges and fortunes, but these storytelling skills do nothing to protect him from Iago s tales, which are based on quite different and destructive motives.
