Heidi is an orphan who is unwanted by her selfish aunt and goes to love with her grumpy grandfather in the Alps. But her friendship with a goatherd revitalises her grandfather until she is taken back by the Aunt to help with the housework. But all comes right in the end as the Aunt's plotting is revealed and Heidi returns to the Alps, her Grandfather and Peter the goatherd.
