Heart of Darkness

Work:: Heart of Darkness (S3543)

Join Marlow on the deck of his steamboat, as he recounts the story of his traumatic journey down the Congo River deep into the dark, greedy heart of European colonialism. Stripped back to the essentials - one man, the objects around him and his story - this adaptation draws out the intensely personal narrative in Conrad's tale. A voyage through Marlow's fractured memories of his confrontation with the darkest truths of his society, a confrontation that led him to the very edge of his sanity.
Author Joseph Conrad

Production:: (T909352983)

The producers of A Bucket Rider (2005) and Utah Blue (2008) present a thrilling interpretation of Joseph Conrad’s seminal novel which tells of a journey beneath the skin of colonial madness: to wipe out frightful wrongs, perform deeds of high surprise and further the cause of progress. The show features an extraordinary, specially commissioned soundtrack from Branwen Munn aka Somatik (collaborator with 4Hero and Talvin Singh).
