Hands Up - Don't Shoot archiveOn Sat 9 Aug 2014 Ferguson, a suburb of St Louis, Missouri became the unlikely focus of the world attention when eighteen year-old Michael Brown was shot dead and killed by police officer Darren Wilson. The majority of Ferguson's population is black, yet out of a force of 50 officers, only three are African Americans. Tensions immediately after this tragic incidence ran high and ignited the community that felt abandon and betrayed by the very people it pays to serve and protect. This fictitious play explores two rich and successful New Yorker's on vacation caught up by accident in the racial unrest that follows, after a peaceful candlelit protest turns violent.
