Four Little Plays Called Rape archiveBased on the idea that the principals on which rape exists - violation, degradation and persecution - are abundant in human nature in many forms, the play uses the example of racism, sexual abuse, violent megalomania and fascism to demonstrate the ease with which 'rape' can occur. Ranging in location and time from a fictional 18th century France to a present day situation of racist abuse in England, the four scenes cover a spectrum of people, societies and situations, looking at the latent ability in all to abuse. Although often menacing and violent, the play also uses humour and tenderness in its depiction of human nature.
