Festival of Devon Youth Theatre archiveThe Festival is an evening of 3 performances. The first will be the newly written The Well of Resolution commissioned for the Queen's visit to Exeter on 1st May 2002, written by Paul Diffey and directed by Jo Diffey. The short play uses humour and mythology to make a political point about over development of rural areas. The second piece is currently being devised by the company and directed by Tessa Holt. The final play is Illyria written by Bryony Lavery and directed by Nick Jones. The company have worked on this play as part of the International Connections Festival of Youth Theatre run by the National Theatre. It takes an uncompromising look at the betrayals and confusion of a war torn people. The last play contains strong language - it will be preceded by an interval to allow parents with young children to leave if they wish.
