Famine's Cry archiveBased on the Irish potato famine of the 1840's the show promises to have audiences crying, laughing and singing to its glorious songs. Kim Elgar concentrates on one tiny community during that dark part of Irish history and has managed to portray not only the anger and despair of the time, but also that automatic defence of the oppressed - Humour! And all the time those songs ring out, staying with you long after.
