Platform 88 is a new theatre company founded in 2008 by Brazilian Janaina Tupan together with Sebastien Loesener, France and Chantal Mailhac, Lebanon, whose aim is to produce work that is based on the actor’s physicality, placing the body in the centre of the creative process. The first and eponymous work of the company is a research about time through a mirroring relationship. The continuous struggle to conquer a space and to make sense for every common action echoes the transformation of a woman. Facing her past, while having apparently no future, she will struggle to rediscover an open path in herself, a desperate attempt to step forward. A piece about arrivals and departures. In a station where time seems to have stopped, one gets lost in waiting. A process of recovering the purposes of one’s arrival starts in order to conquer the departure. That might be what encounters in a crossing place are about... A very poetic, visual, movement and image-led performance.

Alone Time playfully explores varying states of loneliness with all its delights and dejections, whilst simultaneously probing the ironic miscommunication that occurs when a performer is supposedly unaware he's being watched. The piece expresses the following sentiments as being alone seems to have two extremes. The first is fear: we worry we may end up without anyone - an enforced solitude, which leads to feelings
