Something is happening in the basement of the Hope Shelter. Jabber, a sometimes homeless man, is trying to rescue his best friend, Ciel. Once a fine pianist, Ciel has shut herself off from the world after the death of her infant. Jabber uses Tennyson's poetry to reach his friend - and although she will not speak, Ciel begins to respond through Strauss' exquisite music.
