Set in 1963, Eclipsed focuses on the lives of four 'fallen' unmarried mothers who have been locked away by either their families, the church or the state. They live out their lives as 'penitents' (or prisoners) in an Irish Magadalen Laundry attached to a convent. We see the young women's struggle for freedom, their longing to see their stolen children and watch their sad and pitiful lives.
