Down the Road archiveLee Blessing's beautiful balanced morality play in the guise of a psychological drama concerns a writing team's serialisation of a serial killer's murderous spree across America. Through many weeks of interviews the story of his rapes, murders and mutilations unfold and the writers become less and less convinced of the ethics of what they are doing. Do we make serial killers? We read about them, watch films about them, talk about them on TV and radio. Is that what makes them do it? Why has there been such a great increase in serial killings in modern times? A disturbing account of a modern icon laced with wicked humour and humanity.
