Departures archiveThe check-in was smooth the weather was fine everything was rosy until...the sky turned dark and the plane wouldn't start...Jim and Claire are stuck in Fort Worth Dallas airport. They are a picture of designer chic; upwardly mobile professionals, with tidy suburban lives. On the surface they appear the perfect pair, but domestic bliss is wearing thinner by the second! Jim is a bag of nerves on a good day, but flying fills him with double dread. Claire is the long-suffering wife who's not sure how much more she can take. After 25 years married to Mr Neurosis maybe this flight could be the final straw! As departure time is pushed back and back, Jim's bottle of bourbon is drained and the airport lounge begins to boil. Tempers fray and fuses blow, amongst the baggage and bother of teeming travellers. You can smell the tension in the air as time ticks on and on... It is unlucky flight thirteen for Jim and Claire...who knows where it will all end? 24 hours in departures, how could anybody survive?
