For Daniel, meeting Alexander meant an end to a lifetime of suppressed feelings and the start of a relationship that would bring out the best in him. But a debilitating brain injury shatters his life, his relationship with his sister and his partnership with a lover who must become his carer. This injury - known as Locked-In Syndrome - leaves him mentally alert and healthy, yet physically completely paralysed apart from eye movement.
