Cold Today! archiveProbably the most successful exponent of the Doric comedy of Aberdeenshire was Harry Gordon who was born in Aberdeen just over 100 years ago. He rose to fame as a performer in the great days of variety, writing most of his own material. Characters he create, such as the Laird of Inversnecky or the Oldest Man in Aiberdeen are still remembered fondly by those who saw the entertainer in his heyday. Cold Today! was written by Charles Barron to celebrate Harry's centenary and tells the story of his life, interwoven with more than a dozen of his songs and recreating many of his favourite comedy routines.
