Christmas Plays From Oberufer archiveThese plays, which were first collected in the last century by Karl Julius Schroer from the community living on the island of Oberufer on the Danube, had been passed on through oral tradition since the middle ages. The represent a unique survival of the tradition of mediaeval mystery plays.
