Breaking the String is a poignant yet humorous study of the destructive power of a mother's love. Iris is impatiently waiting the arrival of her son Simon, who is visiting for the weekend. When he arrives, and not alone, the weekend takes a distinct dive and we are treated to an evening of superb drama laced with wonderful comedy, most of it coming from Iris's husband Ron.
