Boundaries 4: Back Out the USSR archivePerformed readings of cutting-edge new writing from the former USSR. The Boundaries year at the Traverse looks at the many changing boundaries of the 21st century by hearing the plays emerging from our new and old worlds, and meeting with their authors to discuss their influences. The fall of the USSR: a good thing, a disaster, or just business as usual? Do you have any idea what's really happening in the countreis that used to be part of the Soviet Union? Has life changed at all in Estonia, Georgia, Latvia, Belarus and the Ukraine? We look at the state of the nations as seen in contemporary new writing from some of the countries that now stand alone from the former USSR. The two readings will be followed by an Encounter discussion.
