Black Slap and Sequins archiveSet on election night 1964 in a dressing room at the Victoria Palace Theatre where the Black and White Minstrel Show is still packing them in. Not just a piece of show biz nostalgia, the play is set against a background of great social change; politics, music, fashion and sexual attitudes will never be the same again. Meanwhile the young (and not so young) boys of the chorus dress up, drag up and yes, black up.
