A play from Canada. Set in New York shortly after the abolition of slavery, Belle and her husband have made the long journey from Atlanta to begin a new life. Freedom turns out not to be quite as straightforward as they had hoped, and when they find themselves involved with a passionate suffragette, ideas of rights and equality are thrown into new relief.
