Bedroom Farce

Work:: Bedroom Farce (S2517)

When Malcolm and Kate threw a house-warming they had no idea how hot it would get. But then with four couples, three bedrooms, two ex-lovers and one set of parents-in-law (not to mention self assembly furniture and pilchards on toast) it was never going to go that smoothly. First performed June 1975.

This witty and clever play unfolds in three separate bedrooms during the course of one action packed night. Occupants of the bedrooms include Delia and Ernest, who are preparing to celebrate their wedding anniversary at their favourite restaurant. Newly-weds Malcolm and Kate are getting ready for their house-warming party. Among those invited is Nick, now in bed with a bad back, and wife Jan who plans to go without him. A fourth couple, Trevor and Susannah, have marital problems. Their goings-on manage not only to ruin the party, but keep everyone awake all night. A fine cast and play.
