Are There Female Gorillas?

Are There Female Gorillas?

Work:: Are There Female Gorillas? (S346923454)

Meet Girl and Gorilla. They have been together for as long as they can remember. Ever since they were born into a world of patriarchal gaze. Girl is shaved. Gorilla is hairy. This is a problem. One which they can't solve easily. Are There Female Gorillas? is a response to the #metoo campaign and the surge of mainstream feminism. This is a two-women show inspired by real-life female experiences, particularly our insecurities surrounding body hair, breaking out of the mould of being a "lady" and the feeling of being pulled between societal expectation and our own animalistic, natural selves.
