Now, with his mate from the city in tow, Ray returns to where it all began, to the man who loved him like a son and the memory of a time when life still kept its promises. But Chaimig's a changed man. Relying on Amanda, the grand-daughter who has stayed, he's older and wiser. And the future he offers may not take away all the pain. For Ray, facing up to what he's become, the realisation dawns that some bonds are harder to break than others. Among Unbroken Hearts is a gripping and beautifully observed play set in Caithness. It examines the plight of a generation without hope and community, and depicts the two sides of a very different Scotland as they come together.
