All the King's Fools archiveAll the King's Fools is a ground - breaking piece of site-specific theatre by Foolscap Productions. It is performed by six learning disabled actors working in collaboration with Director Peet Cooper, a professional fool and historic Jester, which explores the performances, experiences and lives of jesters and fools in the court of King Henry VIII. It has been developed with the support of independent charity Historic Royal Palaces and will be performed in the beautiful and historic setting of Henry VIII's Hampton Court Palace, Surrey. Based on detailed historic research by curator Dr Suzannah Lipscomb, in collaboration with the director and actors, All the King's Fools reveals that the most famous jesters of the mid sixteenth century were learning disabled, that their performances delighted and entertained the King and his court, their influence extending through the centuries.
