A Quartet of Premiers

A Quartet of Premiers

Work:: A Quartet of Premiers (S1313711133)

Presented as two double-bills, the season kicks off with Evidence by Richard Hurst: Five Scene of Crime Officers struggle with the stresses of their job and the strains of working with each other. Hurst co-writes BBC's Miranda and has written for ITV2's Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He co-wrote and directed the BAFTA and Olivier-nominated stage show Potted Potter, as well as the award-winning show Bill Hicks: Slight Return. This show is paired with Coup by Elinor Perry-Smith: in a dystopian republic of Britain, the old King has been usurped by a younger warrior... what will this mean for his beloved seamstress? Both these plays are directed by Will Sherriff-Hammond who has worked with National Theatre Connections, and the Soho Theatre. The second double-bill features Powerplay by Jon Barton: in this disturbing piece, a young woman's actions cause huge consequences inside a Government Intelligence Agency. Barton is a graduate of the Royal Court Young Writers' Programme. He is currently being produced by Hightide for the 2012 Festival, and at Theatre 503 for the Rapid Write Rewind season. This piece plays alongside Click by Mike Carter: a diverse cast of characters seek friendship - and more - on the internet.
